A meditation on the place of art in a culture of infinite entertainment—screensaver art for the screensaver art era.
DVD Screensaver takes the bouncing DVD logo as contemporary iconography: a symbol of infinitely consumable entertainment which itself becomes a piece of infinitely consumable entertainment as we wait, eyes wide, for deliverance. Nodding to the memetic internet lore in which it's steeped, it recasts the vapid entertainment of the screensaver as art object, suggesting a path to redemption: we're drowning in a culture of infinite consumption it says; art, at its best, can offer a way out.
